2010 Development Plan

Chief's Marcellus leasehold has increased to more than 560,000 acres and leasing continues in selected areas.  To date 40 wells have been drilled: 29 horizontal wells and 11 vertical wells.  Chief has four horizontal rigs that are currently under long term-contract, three of which are new fit-for-purpose rigs.

Chief has set a 2010 development budget of $325-350 million depending upon success and natural gas prices and expects to exit 2010 with 7 rigs running.  "We have 70 wells planned, primarily horizontal, for 2010", said Michael Radler, Chief Operating Officer.  "As we ramp up production, we will continue to improve efficiencies and reduce costs while extending lateral length and improving completion rates."

United Way Day of Caring

Chief employees joined 600 other volunteers for the 17th Annual United Way Day of Caring.  The Lycoming County event experienced the largest turnout in history and sent volunteers to 39 non-profit organization job sites.

Chief was assigned to the Jersey Shore YMCA with the task of cleaning classrooms, locker rooms and the gymnasium.

By contributing to the United Way, employees know they are making a difference in their community.  Chief encourages employees to volunteer their time and promotes volunteer opportunities internally.
